Performance Bicycle: 2014 Performance Girls Raven 24" Suspension Kids Bike

Product provided from Performance Bicycle.  All opinions are my own.

Is a bike on your child's Christmas List this year?  What child wouldn't want to see that Santa left a shiny new bike under the tree?

If you're going to get your child a bike, I suggest getting a quality bike that will last year after year. Performance Bicycle is America's leading multi-channel bicycle leader.  With more than 100 Performance Bicycle stores located in 19 states, they continue to provide value, education and expert advice and professional service to the cycling community.  With an inventory of more than 10,000 products available through their catalog and website, this company is your number one shopping destination for bikes.

We received their 2014 Performance Girls Raven 24" Suspension Kids Bike.  My 9-year-old daughter loves her new bike.  We can hardly get her off it, which is a good thing!  Kids should be getting plenty of exercise and fresh air, and a bicycle is a great way to keep them healthy.

This bike features 21 speeds and hardy brakes.  The pretty silver, green and white glossy frame with color-coordinated components will make any girl smile.  This bike has been built with safety and comfort in mind. It's sporty and not too girly.  My daughter isn't much of the princess pink type so this bike is right up her alley.  It's a great "big girl" bike.

My daughter has ridden this around the neighborhood and taken this out on the bike trails.

The seat is comfortable and the hand brakes are responsive.

She loves how the bike feels and appreciates the easy-to-use Revo twist shifters on the handlebar. They're much easier for her to use than trigger shifters.  They're great for the child just starting out on a mountain bike.

Features include:
  • 24" 6061 aluminum frame with low standover height offers the perfect fit
  • 50 mm of travel in the front fork smooths out the trail debris
  • Shimano's rear derailleur with guard and Revo twist shifters provide reliable and safe gear changes
  • 21-speed Huperglide system gives the rider a multitude of gear options
  • CPSC reflectors enhance visibility in low light
  • Integrated kickstand prevents tip overs
  • Linear-pull brakes deliver sure stopping power in any condition
  • Kenda tires with 24" width provide great traction over uneven terrain
  • Durable aluminum wheelset with 36 spokes is built to tackle any off-road adventure

  2. Yes. aluminum frame is rust fee and lightweight. Love that and the color combo that like you said is not too girly. We gave our oldest grand daughter a bike a few years ago. I am guessing she is ready for a speed bike now. I dont know much about bikes but my nephew worked in a bike shop a few years through high school and is BIG on bikes. Have to ask him about this brand, looks ACE!

  3. Great bike! Not too sure about the 21 speeds since most of the time kids dont use it but the rest is great! I love the color and like you mentioned it isnt so 'gily' it looks like a serious bike. I hope she has a great time on it!
