Sylvan Learning: Fit for Algebra - Take the Algebra Fitness Challenge!

Math was my downfall.  It was my worst subject in school.  Thankfully, both of my kids do well in math.  Once I graduated high school, I dreaded taking college math.  I even put it off in my college schedule.  However, I made it through my math classes - not without a lot of hard work though.  I wish when I was younger I had taken the Sylvan Fit 4 Algebra screener

66% of parents across the country believe that there is an "algebra crisis" in America.  Most believe American students fall behind in math compared to other nations (based on an online survey of approximately 1000 parents).  Wow...we need to help our students succeed in math.  You can start by taking the Sylvan Learning Fit 4 Algebra screener.  This tool will help you understand and determine what your child needs assistance with.

According to Sylvan: "A critical gateway subject, algebra is the foundation for higher-level mathematics and science courses in high-school, which in turn can open doors for college and lead to better careers and lifetime earning potential."

I tried this out with my son who is nine and in the fourth grade.  He was eager to take the test and was excited for the challenge.  There were some problems I knew he had not learned yet, but he tried to answer them to the best of his ability.  The test was a very easy process and getting the end evaluation of my son's algebra potential wasn't difficult to do.  I was able to see what he needed improvement on immediately.  This was great to know, and I can hopefully help him get ahead of the game so he's more than prepared when harder algebra curriculum is taught to him.

I encourage you to take the Fit 4 Algebra Fitness Challenge.  You'll learn a lot about what your child needs to succeed.  Making sure your child is well prepared for what the world has in store for them is so important.  Giving them the tools to do their best is such a wonderful gift.
