NO Tolerance for Cheating on Giveaways

It was so nice to see comments on my Giveaway CHEATERS Revealed post.  It's nice knowing that there are other bloggers and readers out there that agree and are lending their support.  I will be contacting Leslie from Leslie Loves Veggies and finding out the names of her cheaters.  Thanks for your comment, Leslie!  I appreciate it.  I will also stay in touch with other bloggers to find out who they have found to be cheating.  Bloggers who have to deal with cheating is such a hassle.

Also, all giveaways on The Funky Monkey have a MANDATORY ENTRY.  It is clearly highlighted in purple in all giveaways.  Some readers are not completing the Mandatory Entry and are skipping right on ahead to the list of optional entries.  Companies are very kind to sponsor giveaways on my blog.  It is up to you, the reader, to enter and follow the mandatory entry in order to participate.

If you say you are following The Funky Monkey or a company's Facebook/Twitter page, I expect you to follow it.  And don't say you are an email subscriber if you haven't even subscribed.  I have a way to check that and I will.

I love all of my readers and I do believe there are many, many, many of you who follow all the rules exactly.  For those of you who do, THANK YOU!  You deserve to win and I wish you the best of luck!

  1. I understand that people who enters more than one time are clearly cheaters but if someone said they follow/like/subscribed/whatever and they don't, they are not always cheaters.

Anyway I know that with all my good will I sometimes make errors, sometimes my browser fails me, sometimes I just plainly forgot but I always thought that it was still fair because surely the blogger will check if I have done it correctly...

    Everybody is only human.

  2. I understand that mistakes happen. I can relate to that. That is why I double check.

However, there are some people who are entering giveaways on other blogs who CLEARLY are cheating and it's obvious it's not just a mistake.

Thanks for your comment. I hear you.

  3. Also, I don't feel it's a mistake if you happen to skip the mandatory entry. That is clearly stated in each of my giveaways. Underlined, highlighted....the works. Some aren't following this rule and that is not allowed. If some don't want to do the mandatory entry, then they shouldn't be entering that giveaway.

  5. YAY I am so happy the bloggers are finally catching theses cheaters! I have been following so many wonderful blogs for about two years now and have seen these cheaters get away with so much and win many.... many prizes too. It hurts us loyal and honest followers but they do not care they are gready!!!!!! I would make it one entry per ISP per household. Thank-you form a very loyal follower of your fantstic blog!

  6. What I don't understand is who has the time to enter more than once. For every giveaway I enter I pass up at least 5 due to lack of time.

My biggest blog win ever was an HP laptop, and I won after the orginal winner was found to have entered more than once, so I'm all for catching cheaters.

  10. I would never cheat, but sometimes I don't remember if I entered a giveaway or not. It you enter via form it is impossible to tell...unless I remembered to leave a comment on the post. I am beginning to see a pattern of forgetfulness in my behavior... haha!

  11. You are def not alone in the cheating issue online. It has become so pervasive and so many blogs are now switching to 1 per household/IP address, that Scott and I have started entering different giveaways all together rather than the same ones even though we have never cheated. Insane how rampant it is! So sorry you ever had to deal with this and sorry a few have ruined it for other couples like Scott and I who just loved sharing the giveaway experience together and following the same blogs together. I wish you luck in ending the cheating all together and hope you are able to! Love your blog and we have followed and entered for years! xoxo
