I love drinking tea, not only for its health benefits, but because it provides such a relaxing and soothing experience. If you're anything like me, trying out new teas is exciting. There's no doubt that Andrews & Dunham Damn Fine Tea looks amazing. Their name speaks for itself, don't you think?!? All of their loose teas look so intriguing and delicious. And check out their funky tins. Lovin' it....all of it.
A bit more about this company:
About our teas
All of our teas are sold loose, which means they are not in tea bags. Unless you like chewing on wet tea leaves (hey, some people do) you will need a tea straining device to prepare our tea. Our teas are produced using orthodox methods. People chuckle when they hear “orthodox tea” for the first time but what it means is that the leaves were picked and processed using traditional methods. A majority of the world’s tea production is a big, messy, industrialized affair, but the teas we’re interested in are still being processed mostly by hand. Each tin is decorated with a certified 100% awesome label. We produce a very limited quantity of each series before we get excited and move on to other teas, so get them while you can!
Series 5 - Two 2oz. Tins + Tattoos
Who knows the limit of the sea? Who has spied its edge and not glimpsed more beyond? Our lonely Captain has stared into the watery depths more than most. Far removed from the overcast shores of his boyhood, long the ward of the ocean’s swells and spray, he does not want for company. The course is of his choosing; the treasure is all that eludes his grasp. And he is not alone.
Who has been staring back? And who would return to fix their gaze so softly upon this worn and craggy face? Love is mystery enough that it needs no magic from the deep to capture our imagination. But like a warm fire, a good salty yarn is hard to resist.
Who has been staring back? And who would return to fix their gaze so softly upon this worn and craggy face? Love is mystery enough that it needs no magic from the deep to capture our imagination. But like a warm fire, a good salty yarn is hard to resist.
The Captain is a hearty Assam tea from India. For an invigorating brew, steep these leaves for 4 minutes in boiling water. Try 3 if you are of a gentler nature and seek only warm comfort. Beware the urge to brew this tea in salt water.
Series 3 - Three 2oz. Tins + Travel Patch
If even half of the stories are true, let it be a testament to the durability of rock musicians that Carävan lasted as long as they did. With a ticket paid in full by the charms of singer and guitarist Ian Black, Carävan rode the mind-numbing rhythms of Phil Steep (bass) and Gryph “Smoke” Upley (drums) down dark highways for four years. Black’s bizarre and tragic death in 1979 put the brakes on this trio’s wild ride. The surviving band members and their music have since been plagued by personal, legal and (by some accounts) supernatural misfortune to such an extent that the survival of their master recordings is a remarkable feat in itself. What remains today is a body of work that reveals a surprising sweetness, albeit richly draped in the fiery brimstone of Carävan’s legendary hard-rocking sound.
Carävan is a smoky blend of black teas. Steep in boiling water for four minutes — more if you can stand it. It is best enjoyed in an 11-ounce mug.
